People in PoK protest as arrested activist-journalist still waiting for a fair trial

Feb 16, 2021

PoK, 16 February 2021:- It’s been six months since journalist and rights activist Tanvir Ahmed, a British citizen, was detained by police in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, but no judicial trial has been set up to investigate his case till date. He was charged with different sections following his challenge to what he calls an oppressive establishment that has crushed people’s rights and has stifled freedom of expression in the illegally occupied region. The locals, however, are more disappointed with the local police as they believe that police should not be mistreating people at the behest of Islamabad.
