Pm-Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme Transforming Lives of Gujarat Farmers
Jun 10, 2026
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi completes 12 years in office, PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi scheme has emerged as a key scheme supporting rural India. Nationwide, over 11 crore farmers have received more than ₹4.27 lakh crore under the scheme, making it one of the world's largest farmer support programmes. In Dashela village in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar, farmers say the scheme has eased financial burdens and strengthened livelihoods. Through Direct Benefit Transfer, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three instalments, helping them meet farming expenses on time. The support helps farmers buy seeds, fertilisers and pesticides on time, while also covering expenses such as labour, diesel and equipment maintenance. Farmers say it has eased costs and improved financial planning. Since its inception, nearly 70 lakh farmer families in Gujarat have received more than ₹23,000 crores through 22 instalments. The latest 22nd instalment alone benefited more than 50 lakh farmer families in the state. The success of PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi reflects India's agricultural transformation, providing stability and support to farming families across the country.
