PM Modi launches BSNL’s ‘swadeshi’ 4G network, commissions over 97,500 towers across India

Jaipur (Rajasthan), September 27, 2025: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated BSNL’s indigenous 4G services and saturation sites from Jharsuguda, Odisha, marking a significant milestone in India's digital self-reliance. A total of 92,633 4G towers and 14,180 saturation sites were launched nationwide. In Jaipur, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal joined the event via video conferencing from JECC Sitapura. Rajasthan now has 5,655 indigenous 4G sites, with 1,322 new sites extending coverage to 1,556 remote and border villages. These sites are future-ready for 5G upgrades through software enhancements. Addressing the ceremony, CM Sharma emphasized that BSNL represents the power of indigenous innovation and connectivity. Celebrating BSNL’s 25th anniversary, he lauded the government's efforts toward a digitally inclusive and self-reliant India. Citizens from across the country also joined virtually from selected sites, underscoring national participation in this transformative initiative.
