PoJK: Earthquake victims still await rehabilitation after 21 Years I #KashmirNews

Muzaffarabad, PoJK, 21 January 2026 : Twenty-one years after the devastating earthquake in Pakistan-occupied Jammu& Kashmir, rehabilitation efforts remain incomplete. Hundreds of projects intended to rebuild affected areas are still unfinished, despite billions of rupees being spent. Many children continue to attend school under the open sky, facing extreme cold in winter and scorching heat in summer. Two satellite towns were constructed in Muzaffarabad to house the affected families, but they remain non-functional. Basic facilities, including water, are still unavailable. The incomplete projects and neglected towns are a stark reminder of failed governance, leaving the earthquake victims still struggling and marginalised, with no end to their hardship in sight.
