PoJK non-gazetted workers threaten sit-in protest at parliament

15 April 2026, PoJK : Dozens of non-gazetted employees assembled outside the Central Press Club in Muzaffarabad, in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, raising slogans and demanding immediate regularisation of their jobs. The leaders say workers have been serving on temporary contracts for years without job security. Many workers say they have spent over a decade in temporary roles, continuing their duties despite uncertainty about their future. The government has yet to respond to the latest deadline, while protesters remain firm on escalating their movement if their demands are not met. The protest has once again drawn attention to governance issues in Pakistan’s illegally occupied areas, with workers accusing authorities of ignoring long-pending demands and basic employment rights.
