PoJK Unrest Continues Amid Protests
Aug 27, 2026
Geneva/Norway/ New York/ PoJK, 27 August 2026 : - For months, people in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir have remained on the streets, demanding basic rights, affordable electricity, food and relief from rising economic hardships. But instead of addressing these grievances, Pakistan has focused on bringing the protests to an end. The crackdown has also turned deadly, with protesters losing their lives in clashes with security forces. Yet, despite the pressure, people continue to raise their voices, demanding that their basic concerns be heard. The protests are now finding an echo beyond Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, with Kashmiri diaspora communities taking to the streets in support of the people back home. Rallies and demonstrations have been reported in cities including Geneva, Norway and New York.
