PoJK’s Jhelum valley battles neglect: No schools, no healthcare, no infrastructure
Dec 27, 2025
PoJK, 27 December 2025: Residents of Jhelum Valley continue to struggle for the most basic services—proper educational and healthcare facilities. Local leaders say that despite repeated appeals, no serious steps have been taken to address these long-standing issues. Years after the devastating earthquake, rehabilitation and reconstruction of schools remain neglected. Hundreds of children are forced to study in unsafe conditions. Beyond education and health, the people of Jhelum Valley say the roads and overall infrastructure are in disrepair, making travel difficult and cutting communities off from essential services. The years of neglect under Pakistan’s illegal occupation have left the region deprived and underserved.
