Kathmandu (Nepal), Feb 14 (ANI): Hundreds of pro-monarchy supporters gathered in Kathmandu to welcome former king Gyanendra Shah ahead of parliamentary elections, signalling a visible show of political mobilisation. Backed by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party and allied groups, demonstrators raised slogans against the current political system. Authorities tightened security at Tribhuvan International Airport, allowing only ticketed passengers entry as crowds disrupted traffic. Supporters claimed they gathered to defend sovereignty and restore monarchy, while critics linked the rally to ongoing political tensions. Nepal abolished its constitutional monarchy in 2006 following mass protests and a crackdown. Shah, who had been staying in Pokhara, returned to the capital on a chartered Summit Air aircraft with his family
