Punjab Artist pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by creating oil painting

Amritsar (Punjab), Oct 01 (ANI): Ahead of Gandhi Jayanti, an artist from Punjab’s Amritsar has created oil painting of ‘Bapu’ (Mahatma Gandhi). Fondly remembered as the ‘Father of the Nation’, Mahatma Gandhi is known to have inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. The oil painting is 5 feet and 7 inches in size. Jagjot Singh Rubal took 10 days to create the masterpiece. While speaking to ANI, “On the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, I have created this painting and I wish to dedicate it to him. It took 10 days for me to create this oil painting. The size of this painting is 5 feet 7 inches.” “I want to gift this painting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi so that, he can put it inside the Gandhi ashram in Gujarat. Mahatma Gandhi is ‘father of the nation’ and because of him our country is quite well to do,” the artist added. Mahatma Gandhi's birthday on October 2 is celebrated worldwide as the International Day of Nonviolence.
