'Rain Coat Robbers' arrested by Delhi Police

New Delhi, August 10(ANI): With the arrest of two notorious robbers Dheeraj and Pankaj, Delhi Police has solved the sensational armed robbery case, committed at a 'Cash for Gold' shop at C.R.Park in Delhi. The complainant Sonakshi Maurya reported that while she was working as customer care service manager at the ‘Cash for Gold’ shop at Savitri Cinema Greater Kalash, two persons entered the office and put the office boy at gunpoint to rob Rs. 70-75 thousand cash from the shop. Both the robbers were wearing raincoats, helmets, gloves and masks while committing the crime. It was also revealed that both accused came on a white-coloured Scooty with a defective number plate. The police team got important clues from the CCTV cameras installed in the area. During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused persons were roaming around in the areas of Kalkaji Market, Lajpat Nagar Market, Nizamuddin Market and GK-1 market areas in search of targets. During the course of the search, it was found that the same suspects using the same scooty committed an armed robbery at the office of ‘Cash for Gold’ at Kalkaji Market in January this year. On the basis of human intelligence, technical surveillance and information developed, one accused was identified. Further raids were conducted at Pasina Kalan Road, near NH-1 in Panipat in Haryana and one accused Dheeraj was arrested from there. Dheeraj revealed the whereabouts of his associate Pankaj was also arrested from Noida. Two toy pistols, scooty, rain coats, gloves, shoes used for commuting crime and cash were recovered from them.
