Rajasthan demands Rs 2645 Cr. relief fund from Centre for assistance

Jaipur (Rajasthan), November 11 (ANI): The Rajasthan Government has demanded Rs. 2645 crore from the Centre as assistance under National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF) for the damage caused by the excessive rain and flood during this monsoon season. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot gave approval to this memorandum during a high-level meeting of Disaster Management and Relief Department held at Chief Minister's Office in Jaipur. The state has demanded Rs. 1642 crore under Agriculture Input Subsidy to be given to farmers as compensation for the crop damage, Rs. 369 crore as compensation for the damage caused by land erosion and Rs. 395 crore for repairing of damaged roads and bridges under SDRF rules. The Chief Minister directed the officials to coordinate with the concerned departments of the Centre to get an early release of funds from the Centre so that early relief and assistance could be provided to the people affected by this natural disaster.
