Rarest bird species ‘Philippine Eagle’ rescued in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj (Odisha), Nov 02 (ANI): World’s rarest bird species ‘Philippine Eagle’ has been rescued by the forest department in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on November 01. It is among the rarest and most powerful birds in the world. A team of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Baripada rushed to the spot and took ‘Philippine Eagle’ in their custody. Later, after medical checkup, the eagle was released. ‘Philippine Eagle’ is having its existence in Similipal National Park of Mayurbhanj district. Due to deforestation and other environmental issues that has been affecting climate changes, ‘Philippine Eagle’ are not seen much in number. ‘Philippine Eagle’ can stretch its wings up to 6.5 feet-long. Their weight is about 17 to 20 pound.
