Resident of Hyderabad resident hails Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme, calls it a boon to poor

Hyderabad (Telangana), April 28 (ANI): Telangana government has launched the Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme to provide financial assistance in the form of a one-time grant of Rs 1,00,116 to unmarried girls above the age of 18. The Scheme only applies to the girls with parents who earn less than Rs 2,00,000 per annum. This initiative not only curbed child marriages but also relieved the financial burden related to marriages. While speaking to ANI on April 28, Vivek, a resident of Hyderabad said, “My sister Varsha got married last year to Manoj Kumar. Due to COVID-19, we faced difficulty in arranging a certain amount for the marriage. So, we had to take a loan and hold my sister's marriage. Later as it was getting difficult to repay the debts. One of the Senior leader Anil ji told us about the Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme for poor people which can help you to overcome your financial problem. We are thankful to the government and the Scheme.” Anju, Mother of Varsha said, “We held daughter's marriage in the month of February 2021 due to COVID. Nobody helped us. It was the CM KCR Scheme that relieved us from the debt burden.”
