Rise in onion prices leaves people teary-eyed in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Dec 12 (ANI): Soaring prices of onion across nation are burning holes in household budgets. Onions are being sold at Rs 110 per kg in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar. They are expected to go as high as Rs 120 per kilogram, and the situation is more or less same in all the major cities of the country. Many consumers have cut down their consumption keeping in mind the high price of onion. In order to control the rising prices of onion, the government is importing 11,000 tonnes of onions from Turkey.
