Chandigarh, April 06 (ANI): Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on April 06, while addressing a Press Conference, said that the Supreme Court has already stated Haryana’s right on the Ravi-Beas waters but an execution order is awaited. The minister said, “We've written to SC on its view that CMs of Haryana and Punjab must solve SYL canal issue as Punjab hasn't responded actively. SC decision already states Haryana's right on the water but an execution order is awaited. We should now see how SYL canal should be made.” Punjab and Haryana have been locked in a dispute over the sharing of the Ravi-Beas waters for decades. While Haryana wants its share, as decided after the re-organisation 50 years ago, successive governments in Punjab have refused to share water. Therefore, the dispute has not been solved since then. Also, the Haryana government passed a resolution during the one-day special session of the state Vidhan Sabha and said that the state wants to continue to retain its right to the Capital Territory of Chandigarh.
