Tamil Nadu: TVK claims AMMK's Kamaraj wrote letter in support, refutes Dhinakaran's forgery remarks

Chennai, May 09 2026 (ANI): A political earthquake has erupted overnight in Tamil Nadu, with Thalapathy Vijay’s TVK finding itself at the center of a major political storm. AMMK levelled serious allegations Vijay’s party, accusing it of using “forged document” to project MLA-elect Kamaraj’s support. AMMK Chief, T. T. V. Dhinakaran also met the Governor Rajendra Arlekar and stated that AMMK will file a criminal complaint against TVK . TVK on the other hand has out-rightly rejected such claims, and also shared a video claiming that Kamaraj voluntarily signed the letter of support. The current situation has placed the actor-turned-politician in a tricky spot, where he may fall short of the numbers required to form a govt. TVK, which won 108 seats, has sought support from several smaller camps to touch the magical number of 118 seats in the 234-seat Assembly, The CPI, CPI(M), which has two seats each, and Congress, with five seats, had already extended its support to the Vijay-led TVK.
