Telangana govt increases allocation in Aasara Pension Scheme

Hyderabad July 25 (ANI): Aasara Pension Scheme was launched by the Telangana Government in 2014, to provide pensions to needy people. These people included elderly, widows, patients suffering from elephantiasis, AIDS, specially-abled persons, beedi workers and single women. Telangana FM has allocated Rs 11,728 crores to the Aasara Pension Scheme in the annual budget for fiscal year 2022-23. The state govt has also increased the pension for various beneficiaries. The pension amount for elderly people, widows, AIDS patients, handloom workers, toddy tappers increased from Rs 200 to Rs 2,016 per month. Similarly, pension to specially-abled people was increased from Rs 500 to Rs 3,016 per month. Pension to single women, beedi workers and filarial patients would be Rs 2,016 per month.
