May 05, 2025

Kathmandu (Nepal), May 05, ANI: Nepal's Federal Parliament has strongly reacted to the death of Prisa Sah, a first-year B.Tech student at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, found dead in her hostel on May 1. This follows the similar death of Nepali student Prakriti Lamsal in February. Allegations of harassment and negligence have triggered protests and calls for action. On May 4, the National Assembly demanded a thorough investigation, blacklisting of the university, and a halt to No Objection Certificates for Nepali students. On May 5, the House of Representatives directed the government to initiate diplomatic dialogue with India. India's MEA expressed condolences and assured support. Pressure mounts on both nations to ensure student safety, accountability, and justice.
