UAPA bill: We oppose mischievous amendments that empower Centre, says P Chidambaram

New Delhi, Aug 02 (ANI): Participating in a debate on the Unlawful Activities (prevention) amendment bill 2019 in Rajya Sabha, Congress Rajya Sabha MP P Chidambaram said, “If you see reasons for amendment, it says 'to empower NIA'. In passing you say 'empowers Centre to add or remove an individual's name as a terrorist', this mischief is why we are opposing this amendment, and we are not opposing Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. We are opposing mischievous amendment which empower central government.”
