Bradford, UK/ PoJK, 08 July 2026: Leaders of Kashmiri political organisations have alleged that the situation in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir continues to deteriorate, with restrictions on essential supplies and increasing pressure on the local population. In a demonstration outside the Pakistani Consulate in UK’s Bradford, protesters claimed that food and medicines are being blocked, several youths have allegedly been forcibly detained, and families are still waiting for the return of the bodies of their loved ones. Referring to the large protest held in London on July 5, activists said nearly one lakh Kashmiris, including women, children, youth and senior citizens, participated in the demonstration. According to them, the gathering sent a strong message urging Pakistan to fulfil the commitments it had made to the Joint Awami Action Committee and implement its charter of demands. The activists in the UK expressed solidarity with demonstrators continuing their sit-in in PoJK’s Rawalakot. Protesters alleged that members of the Joint Awami Action Committee have been placed under the draconian Schedule IV restrictions and are facing what they described as a harsh government crackdown.
