Ukraine crisis: Indian student killed in Shelling in Kharkiv identified as Naveen Shekharappa from Karnataka’s Haveri district

Bengaluru, Mar 01 (ANI): Following the demise of one Indian student in Kharkiv on March 01 due to shelling in the area, Karnataka Disaster Management Authority Commissioner Dr Manoj Rajan on March 01 called the incident ‘unfortunate’ and urged the stranded students to stay in touch with Indian Embassy. “It’s an unfortunate incident. We have confirmed from MEA the unfortunate demise of Naveen Shekharappa in Ukraine. He was from Chalageri, Haveri; had left for a nearby store to buy something. Later his friend got a call from a local official that he (Naveen) has died,” said Ranjan.
