UN Resident Coordinator praises progress of sustainable development goals in Rajasthan

Jaipur (Rajasthan) March 12 (ANI): United Nations Resident Coordinator in India Shombi Sharp met Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at his residence in Jaipur. Sharp praised the State Government for the progress in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and for strengthening the health services, transparency, accountability, improvement in nutritional status and for the welfare provisions made in the Budget. During the meeting, CM Gehlot said that the State Government is giving special priority to social security, health, nutrition, education, transparency, drinking water, sanitation, employment and other sectors. He highlighted that the government had already implemented the Free medicines and Free diagnostic scheme in the health sector and now Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme has been implemented so that every section of the society remains tension-free about the cost of treatment. CM Gehlot expressed gratitude for the continuous cooperation being extended from various agencies and organisations of the United Nations including WHO, UNICEF and World Food Programme in better implementation of the State Government’s policies and programmes.
