Union Budget 2022: HKCCI lists out demands for region

Kalaburagi (Karnataka), Jan 30 (ANI): Ahead of the presentation of the Union Budget 2022-23, which is scheduled to take place on February 1, Hyderabad Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industries, a body of industrialists and traders of Kalyana-Karnataka region has raised few demands for the region in the upcoming Union Budget 2022.“Our demands for Union Budget are for Article 371J; we need a special one-time grant package of around Rs 5,000 crores, to develop our backward region. We request a further reduction of corporate tax,” said Prashant Mankar President, HKCCI. Mankar also requested the Centre to consider pulse and rice industries as agro-industries and give special packages with reduced interest rates.“We need more slabs to classify them so that outgoing taxes reduce,” Prashant Mankar said futher. Article 371-J provides for special provisions for the Hyderabad-Karnataka region in the state of Karnataka. Under this article, the Governor of Karnataka has special responsibility for equitable allocation of funds for developmental expenditure over the region.
