Unlike 2016 unrest, no casualties so far in J&K: Official

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), Aug 13 (ANI): Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary Planning Development & Monitoring Department of Jammu and Kashmir, reiterated government’s stand of no large scale protest in the region, and said unlike the unrest of 2016 when 37 people had died within the first week, no “single casualty” has taken place so far in J&K. Kansal added that by imposing “reasonable restrictions”, the government at least has been able to save human lives in J&K which was put on lockdown ahead of removal of Article 370 on August 05.
