Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Surat unlocks massive growth push

Surat, Gujarat: The two-day Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for South Gujarat was held in Surat with a sharp focus on investment, industrial growth, MSMEs, green energy and future-ready infrastructure. The event was inaugurated on May 1 by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. A large regional exhibition showcased Gujarat’s progress in industry, agriculture, startups and services, with special focus on textiles, diamonds, chemicals, pharma and engineering sectors. On Day 1, Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and C.R. Patil also attended the event along with a strong participation from diplomats, industry leaders and delegates from 27 countries, including Japan, Singapore and Rwanda. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said such regional conferences are taking the Vibrant Gujarat vision to every district and industry cluster. Representatives from Japan, Singapore and other nations expressed interest in expanding business ties with Gujarat. Japan highlighted cooperation in steel, semiconductors and sustainability, while Singapore showed interest in finance, AI, data centres and the semiconductor ecosystem linked to GIFT City and Dholera. On Day 2, Union Minister J.P. Nadda attended the summit. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said around 2,792 MoUs were signed during the conference, with the potential to generate livelihoods for over 2.82 lakh youth in South Gujarat over the next three years. Adding a cultural touch to the summit was a first-of-its-kind Mango Festival, along with stalls by startups, tribal artisans and women entrepreneurs. With strong investment commitments and global participation, the Surat conference reinforced South Gujarat’s position as one of India’s fastest-growing industrial hubs.
