Voting begins for Sri Lankan Presidential Election

Colombo (Sri Lanka) July 20 (ANI): The voting for Sri Lankan Presidential Elections began on July 20 in Parliament. The Parliament will choose between three candidates during the Presidential Election. General Secretary of the Tamil National People’s Front (TNFP), MP Selvarasa Gajendran has reportedly abstained from voting. The Presidential Election was scheduled after former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa fled abroad leaving citizens in a huge economic crisis.
