Kolkata, Dec 15 (ANI): West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has appealed to WB Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to withdraw advertisements defying National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA). He said, “I had flagged an issue to the honourable Chief Minister that she must withdraw her advertisements. How can elected head of government use government money to give advertisement on newspaper and television that there will be no NRC, CAA. This is offensive.” He further added, “I am sure the CM will at least withdraw advertisements (ads by West Bengal government stating CAA and NRC will not be implemented in the state), these advertisements are unconstitutional and it is criminal use of public funds.”
