Will take up Gargi College matter to police after meeting students: NCW Chief

New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): Several women from Delhi University’s Gargi College alleged that they were groped by men on campus during their annual cultural fest. The fest took place from February 04- February 06. While speaking to ANI in the national capital on February 10, National Commission for Women (NCW) Chief Rekha Sharma said, “I have sent my team at Gargi College and they are talking to the principal. I read in the evening in a tweet that few men have entered in the college and tried to molest girls.” “Girls had written that no action was taken by the administration against those men and I immediately replied them that I will be sending my team in the morning. I have already directed to the team to visit college and meet students after that take up the matter with the police,” she added. “After taking the details from my team, I will be able to react about it,” NCW Chief further stated. National Commission for Women (NCW) took cognizance of alleged sexual assault on students of Delhi University’s Gargi College for women. A team of NCW also visited the college campus on February 10.
