New Delhi [India], August 22 : The Communist Party of India (CPI) will launch a countrywide political campaign from the national capital on September 1.
Speaking to ANI, CPI General Secretary D Raja said the party will hold a massive rally in Delhi on September 1, where people from across the country will gather to express their anger and demand a change in government. He said the campaign's slogan is that "change is necessary" and the Modi government must be defeated.
Raja said the country is facing multiple crises, with unemployment and underemployment among the most pressing issues for young people. He added that students are facing problems due to paper leaks and the emergence of coaching mafias, while workers are struggling due to the "anti-worker policies" of the Modi government.
"Farmers are agitating, demanding their MSP, and it is not being considered by the Modi government. Women are agitating, demanding 33 per cent reservation for women," he said.
He said all sections of society are protesting against what he called the "disastrous policies", particularly the economic policies of the BJP government. Raja alleged that the government is focused only on protecting the interests of big businesses and is insensitive towards the sufferings of common people.
Raja said the CPI has been conducting a countrywide political campaign and the September 1 rally in Delhi will see participation from people across the country to raise their concerns.
