Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 17 : Marking the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharakwal unveiled a 30-day continuous mega sanitation drive across the state capital, announcing the daily convergence of the municipal corporation's entire workforce into dedicated zones to clear sewers, water bodies, and drainage lines.
Speaking to ANI, extending warm greetings to the Prime Minister on behalf of the civic administration and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers, Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharakwal announced that the civic body is scaling up its regular sanitation efforts into a synchronised 30-day non-stop campaign.
"Today is the birthday of our popular Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. On behalf of the entire Lucknow Municipal Corporation and all BJP workers, I extend my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to him on his birthday," Kharakwal said.
Outlining the specialised sanitation strategy being deployed this year, the Mayor stated that the entire municipal sanitation workforce will converge on specific civic zones each day to address targeted sanitation challenges systematically.
"We have launched a month-long continuous cleanliness drive. I have been consistently doing this work for the past three years, but this time, we are running it with a different approach. Every day, zone-wise, our entire workforce will deploy to a specific zone," she explained.
Detailing the focus areas of the campaign, Kharakwal said the drive will address civic infrastructure ranging from water bodies to underground drainage networks.
"One day, water bodies will be cleaned; another day, sewers will be cleared; and on another, all drains across Lucknow will be cleaned. In this way, our work will continue non-stop for an entire month," the Mayor added.
The initiative aligns with the nationwide cleanliness drives and service activities organised by local civic bodies and administrations to commemorate the Prime Minister's birthday on September 17, reflecting the ethos of the Swachh Bharat Mission. 
Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decisive leadership, Uttar Pradesh Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna on Thursday extended heartfelt birthday greetings to the Prime Minister, stating that his tenure has elevated India's global stature while decisively resolving complex internal challenges.
Speaking to ANI in Lucknow, the senior state minister highlighted that the country has established multiple benchmarks in both governance and international diplomacy under Prime Minister Modi's stewardship.
"We extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Prime Minister, wishing that the coming days, months, and years bring him immense happiness," Khanna said.
Emphasising the transformation in India's image and strategic standing on the world stage, Khanna remarked, "Under his leadership, we have set hundreds of benchmarks in the country, whether in internal matters or external affairs. In every way, our Prime Minister has elevated India's prestige and respect across the world."
The Uttar Pradesh minister also praised Prime Minister Modi’s proactive approach toward addressing long-pending domestic issues without deferral or hesitation.
"Regarding internal challenges within the country, he didn't postpone or push them aside; he found direct solutions for them," Khanna asserted.
Marking the 76th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh on Thursday announced the organisation of a voluntary blood donation camp, urging citizens to step forward and contribute to the humanitarian initiative.
Speaking to ANI in the national capital, Singh extended warm birthday greetings to the Prime Minister and prayed for his health and longevity.
"To mark the Prime Minister's birthday, we have called upon everyone to donate blood and have organised a blood donation camp. We are holding this camp for a noble cause. We pray for his long life. May he continue to bless and guide us," Singh said.
The blood donation drive is being held as part of a series of public welfare, health, and service-oriented initiatives organised across the national capital to mark the occasion.
