Mangaluru (Karnataka) [India], October 15 : Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Thursday said Kambala, Tulunadu Tableau will be part of Mysuru Dasara this year.
Speaking to the media at Mangaluru Airport on Thursday, Shivakumar said, "Kambala, a coastal region festival, and the Tulunadu tableau will be part of Mysuru Dasara this time...I had said Kambala will be taken to Mysuru. I know the history that during the Vijayanagara period buffaloes used to be brought during Dasara time. This is your festival, the state's festival."
He added, "We are celebrating our Nada Habba Dasara in Mysuru on behalf of the government. The programme will be held on October 21 on Vijayadashami and representatives from Tulunadu are also coming. Many new programmes have been introduced, and teams of our armed forces are participating in the march-past. This time a new elephant will carry Mother Chamundeshwari's Ambari and march."
Speaking on the SIR issue, he said, "Regarding SIR data, today we have filed a petition in the Supreme Court. Right to vote is a right to life. We are all fighting for that. We will continue this fight. During the protest march, Rahul Gandhi told me to come in the vehicle, and some media and BJP leaders spread false propaganda that it was a big insult. It was Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi who made me the Chief Minister of the state. With their cooperation, we are protecting voters' rights in the state. BJP leaders are spreading false propaganda in this and trying to take political advantage. Such a small matter should not be used for profit. Rahul Gandhi is a leader with humanity," he said.
When asked about the arrest in connection with the sting matter, he said, "I have no information."
Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel and JDS State President H. D. Kumaraswamy on Thursday alleged that Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and journalist Rakesh Shetty had conspired to conduct a sting operation against former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, ultimately leading to his removal from office.
Speaking to the media, Kumaraswamy alleged that Siddaramaiah had fallen victim to a political conspiracy orchestrated by the Chief Minister and a journalist whom he accused of engaging in blackmail.
Kumaraswamy demanded the arrest of those allegedly involved in the conspiracy and said Shivakumar should be known as the “Sting Samrat of Karnataka”.
