New Delhi [India], September 29 : Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar on Tuesday urged political parties to refrain from exploiting sensitive national matters for political gains, asserting that issues concerning the country must be evaluated objectively beyond the conventional "secular-versus-communal" narrative.
Addressing events in the national capital, Ambekar stated that political posturing in the name of secularism remains a prevalent practice in Indian politics today, but emphasised that national interest must always take precedence over partisan politics.
"No political party should be involved in this manner, nor should the issue be exploited improperly," Ambekar said, emphasising the need for restrained and responsible conduct across the political spectrum.
He highlighted that a section of the political establishment continues to construct narratives around secularism to suit immediate political ends. "However, it is a fact that even today, many people in our country wish to engage in politics in the name of secularism. Therefore, one must view this matter with complete objectivity—transcending the secular-versus-communal narrative—and focus on preserving the nation's integrity, unity, security, and its cultural identity and ethos," he remarked.
The RSS Prachar Pramukh further stressed the core necessity of acknowledging the underlying cultural framework of the country, noting that safeguarding the nation's civilizational identity is fundamental to its long-term stability and security. "It is crucial to properly acknowledge and understand the significance of this," he added.
