Uttarakhand Governor Gurmeet Singh, CM Dhami inaugurate 'Seva Saptah' as BJP leader completes five years in office

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], July 4 : Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday participated in the inauguration of 'Seva Saptah' under the "Seva, Sushasan evam Samarpan - Jan Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan Jan Ke Dwar Seva Pakhwada" programme at the IDPL Ground in Rishikesh, marking the Chief Minister's completion of five years in office.
Dhami was first sworn in as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand on July 4, 2021. Following the 2022 Assembly elections, he assumed office for a second consecutive term. After former Chief Minister Narayan Dutt Tiwari, Dhami has become the first BJP Chief Minister to complete five years in office in the state.
Earlier in the day, Dhami credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance and the "double-engine government" for the state's governance and development initiatives over the past five years.
Addressing the people of Uttarakhand, the Chief Minister said he had completed five years of public service as the state's "Chief Servant" with the love, trust and blessings of the people. He dedicated the journey of service, good governance and public welfare to the aspirations and support of the state's 1.25 crore residents.
According to an official release, Dhami highlighted several landmark decisions taken during his tenure, including the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), the Anti-Cheating Law, the Anti-Conversion Law, the strengthened Land Law and the abolition of the Madrasa Board with the establishment of the Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority.
He said these reforms had strengthened good governance, transparency and equality while also improving investment, employment opportunities and infrastructure development.
The Chief Minister said more than 34,000 youths had secured government jobs through a transparent recruitment process. He also highlighted welfare measures for soldiers, farmers, women and youth, alongside initiatives promoting solar energy, homestays and self-employment.
Dhami said the state had witnessed record pilgrim and tourist footfall, boosting the local economy, while investment projects worth over Rs 1 lakh crore had been grounded. He also announced the launch of the second phase of the "Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar" campaign to strengthen public outreach, ensure last-mile delivery of welfare schemes and reinforce the government's commitment to service, good governance and the vision of "Viksit Uttarakhand-Viksit Bharat."
