Republic Day 2023: Indian Army Dog gets bravery award for ultimate sacrifice

New Delhi, January 25 (ANI): Indian Army Dog 'ZOOM' of the 28 Army Dog Unit posthumously awarded the Mention-in-Despatches gallantry award. Zoom died after sustaining two gunshot injuries in Op Tangpawa, Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir on October 13, 2022. The dog was under treatment at 54 AFVH (Advance Field Veterinary Hospital). He attacked terrorists during an operation in Kokernag in J&K. Zoom had received 2 gunshot injuries during the mission. In spite of that, the canine continued his task and helped in neutralising 2 terrorists. Both terrorists were involved in terror activities including attack on civilians.
