Apr 16, 2026
Los Angeles [US], April 16 : The next James Bond will be back soon! Amazon MGM Studios dropped fleeting updates on the next 007 film, suggesting that the makers are taking time to make the perfect choice for the role.
"Now, I know you're all wondering when we're going to announce who's playing James Bond. Don't get too excited. Please know that we're taking the time to do this with care and deep respect. It is the dream of a lifetime for all of us to bring audiences this next chapter, and it's a responsibility we don't take lightly," said Courtenay Valenti, head of film at Amazon MGM Studios, as quoted by Variety.
Valenti further explained that the makers will make key announcements when the time is appropriate.
"What I can tell you is this: when you pair one of the most beloved franchises in history with a world-class filmmaking team, including the brilliant director Denis Villeneuve, extraordinary producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman, executive producer Tanya Lapointe, and screenwriter Steven Knight, you're setting the stage for something that's truly worthy of the Bond legacy. That film is coming, and when the time is right, we'll have much more to share," Valenti said.
This comes at a time when speculations have been swirling around the casting of the next James Bond. From Jacob Elordi to Callum Turner and Louis Partridge, many have been rumoured to be in the line to become James Bond, taking over from Daniel Craig.
Craig has famously featured in five Bond films, including the likes of 'Skyfall' and 'Casino Royale'.
It was with 2021's 'No Time to Die' that the actor finally retired from the role.
Meanwhile, Denis Villeneuve will direct the next instalment, with producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman.
