New Delhi [India], July 9 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi president Saurabh Bhardwaj on Thursday slammed the BJP over the Rohini building collapse that claimed four lives, alleging "zero accountability" in handling such incidents and accusing the government of reducing safety audits to an eyewash while shielding those responsible.
In a post on X, Bhardwaj said, "Zero Accountability. Four persons have been found dead so far under the debris, 3 injured in the building collapse at Rohini. What did the 4-engine BJP government learn from the building collapse at Saket (Saidulajab)?"
He alleged that the BJP government had claimed to conduct safety audits of buildings across Delhi but failed to prevent such tragedies.
"The BJP Govt claimed that they have done safety audit of all buildings in Delhi and identified dangerous buildings. It appears that Govt and MCD used this opportunity to arm twist businesses in the city and extract large sums of bribes in the name of safety audits. The whole exercise was just an eyewash," Bhardwaj alleged.
The AAP leader further claimed that lower-level officials were routinely suspended after such incidents while senior officials escaped accountability.
"Every time there is an incident like this, innocent lives are lost, the BJP Govt will suspend a JE/AE. In a few weeks they resume their jobs and it's business as usual. Whether it's Ram Mandir, the Rs 650 crore health scam, building collapse or fire incidents, only small fish is prosecuted. The crocodiles get patronage of the Government," he said.

In a separate post, Bhardwaj also attacked the BJP government over widespread waterlogging in the national capital following heavy rainfall.
"Delhi - Development is flowing away from everywhere. The road was just built, the money was just spent, now the water and the BJP government's honour, everything is flowing away," he posted.

His remarks came after a four-storey under-construction building collapsed in Rohini on Thursday afternoon.
According to officials, four people died in the incident while one person sustained injuries. The deceased were identified as Noorul Huda (20), Ram Dua (51) and Ram (42), while another victim also succumbed to injuries. The injured survivor, Saddam (34), remains hospitalised.
Police said an FIR has been registered under relevant provisions and an investigation is underway.
The collapse occurred amid heavy rainfall that has battered Delhi-NCR since Wednesday night, causing severe waterlogging and traffic disruptions across several parts of the national capital, including Mehrauli-Badarpur Road, Burari and NH-24 near Akshardham. Similar flooding was reported from Noida and Ghaziabad, while multiple tree-fall incidents disrupted traffic in South Delhi.
