In a video message, the committee referred to the Indian Army's Operation Blue Star at Sri Darbar Sahib in June 1984, describing it as an attack on the sanctity and dignity of Sikhism.
The video message said, "At the centre of spirituality, Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, and the centre of devotion and power, Sri Akal Takht Sahib, several attacks were carried out by the rulers of the time to undermine the sanctity and dignity of Sikhism. Under this, in June 1984, on the orders of the then Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, an attack was launched by the Indian Army on Sri Darbar Sahib."
