New Delhi [India], September 9 : BJP national president Nitin Nabin will begin his Uttar Pradesh Assembly election campaign from Western Uttar Pradesh, with a two-day visit to the region starting September 12.
As per BJP sources, "On September 12, Nabin will visit Meerut, where he will hold a meeting with MPs and MLAs from the party’s Western Uttar Pradesh region to assess the ground situation and review preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections".
He is also scheduled to interact with party workers and office-bearers at the divisional level during his stay in Meerut. Nabin will spend the night in Meerut.
On September 13, the BJP national president will travel to Bulandshahr, where he will meet senior party functionaries and discuss the party’s election preparedness and organisational strategy.
As part of the BJP’s preparations for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Nitin Nabin is scheduled to visit all six organisational regions of the state and review the party’s election preparedness, organisational strength and ground-level strategy.
Uttar Pradesh will hold the assembly elections in 2027, with a major contest expected between the two most prominent parties, Bharatiya Janata Party and Samajwadi Party.
In the current session, the Uttar Pradesh Assembly has 403 elected members, 258 of whom are from the Bharatiya Janata Party, 107 from the Samajwadi Party, and 13 from the Apna Dal. Samajwadi Party is looking to make a comeback in Uttar Pradesh and is eyeing a win in the 2027 elections.
The appointment of General Secretary Vinod Tawde as the in-charge of the crucial electoral state also reflects the party's decision to have an experienced leader with vast experience of elections in the position.
Tawde said the NDA would once again dedicate itself to serving the people of Uttar Pradesh for the next five years. “For the next five years, we will once again dedicate ourselves to serving the people of Uttar Pradesh. We are committed to this,” Tawde said.
