Sikar (Rajasthan) [India], May 23 : National Students' Union of India (NSUI) National President Vinod Jakhar has visited Sikar and met the family members of NEET aspirant Pradeep Meghwal at their residence, who allegedly committed suicide after being deeply disturbed by the NEET paper leak.
During the visit on Friday, Jakhar also facilitated a conversation between the bereaved family and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
Pradeep Meghwal had taken the tragic step of suicide after being deeply disturbed by the NEET paper leak and the continuously increasing irregularities in the examination system. The incident has sparked outrage among students and raised serious concerns over the credibility and transparency of the country's education system.
Speaking to the family, Rahul Gandhi assured them that justice would be delivered and said that strict action must be taken against those responsible for jeopardising the future of students.
In a statement, NSUI reiterated that the fight for justice for Pradeep Meghwal and millions of affected students across the country will continue until accountability is ensured.
Earlier, on May 16, National Students' Union of India (NSUI) members held a protest outside the office of the National Testing Agency following the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 examination over allegations of a question paper leak, amid heavy security deployment.
The NSUI members carried a lock and chain symbolising the shutting down of NTA, held placards and raised slogans criticising NTA and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the irregularities and calling for justice for the aspirants. Accusing the Centre and NTA of incompetence, they demanded a ban on the agency and the resignation of the Education Minister amid the ongoing probe in the case.
Several of these protestors were detained by the police after a scuffle broke out with the protesting members.
