SP not getting even single BJP MLA: Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak slams Akhilesh Yadav

Oct 01, 2026

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 1 : Dimissing the claims made by Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav regarding BJP MLAs being in contact with his party, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak on Thursday asserted that no BJP MLA would join the opposition party.
“The Samajwadi Party should look at its own family. They are not going to get even a single MLA from the Bharatiya Janata Party,” Pathak told ANI.
In contrast, he said that the BJP has the largest cadre base and claimed several MLAs from other parties are keen to join the BJP.
“The Bharatiya Janata Party is the largest party in terms of cadres/workers, and many MLAs from other parties are eager to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. When the time comes, the Bharatiya Janata Party will definitely consider and work on all such honourable MLAs,” he said.
Pathak also asserted that the BJP would form the government in Uttar Pradesh in 2027 with a “massive majority”.
“I repeat, the Bharatiya Janata Party is going to form the government in 2027 with a massive majority,” he said.
On the announcement of the BJP’s third candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections, Pathak asked to wait for the party to announce its candidates.
“You wait a bit, and all candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party… we will soon present the list before you,” Pathak said.
This comes after Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday claimed that many BJP MLAs are in touch with his party but there is difficulty in accommodating them.
Yadav, who interacted with the media, also indicated that the party will fight the next year’s Uttar Pradesh elections with largely the same allies with which it fought some recent elections. He said the aim is to declare the alliance very soon.
“We are aiming for very soon, and the alliance will remain the same as it was before,” he said.
The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister also targeted BJP over the Ram Mandir donation theft case and said a huge economy cannot be built through donation thefts.
